We are a community coalition that brings individuals and organizations together to work for the betterment of our community.

The Friends of NW 10^th Street began when the West Oaks Community Partnership and the 10^th Street Initiative merged in January 2007. This merging of groups brought together the focus of businesses along the 10^th Street Corridor and organizations (civic, government, faith-based, private & public educational facilities) who are concerned with improving the quality of life for all those living and working in the area. The coalition includes residents, property owners, neighborhood associations in the area, apartment complexes, businesses, public and private organizations and community agencies. The work of this coalition is through three task forces that address the following: Safety & Security, Beautification, and Education, Family & Employment Success. The issues that are addressed by each task force are those that are of the highest concern in the area.

BYLAWS OF FRIENDS OF NW 10^TH STREET

ARTICLE II. PURPOSE

Friends of NW 10^th Street is a not for profit association including residents, businesses, property owners, neighborhood associations, public and private organizations, and community agencies who are concerned with improving conditions in the area. The goal of the association is to improve the quality of life for persons living in the area and to develop an environment which is supportive to businesses, residents, and organizations located in the area; thus the purposes of Friends of NW 10^th Street shall be: (1) to share information and resources, (2) to advocate for community needs, and (3) to organize for community improvement.
